Jaden Lajyll Zwick Ojeaburu
Equal Justice Works Fellow and Collective Member
pronouns: she/her/hers
Jaden Lajyll Zwick Ojeaburu joined C4LL full-time in 2023 because of her shared belief in the potential of liberatory lawyering as a strategic approach to building movements and transforming social conditions. Jaden proudly hails from Federal Way, Washington. Growing up there, she had numerous mentors who invested in her leadership development from a young age. At the same time, her low-income public schools were introductory sites of racialized discipline and policing. Jaden is deeply committed to ending violence against youth in schools and improving the quality of education for Black students. As an Equal Justice Works Fellow at C4LL, Jaden will be building a peer education defense network in collaboration with Arts for Healing Justice Network. Additionally, she will be supporting the development of a Los Angeles County-wide alternative to traditional court processing of young people.
Jaden graduated with her bachelor’s in Spanish and sociology from Gonzaga University. After college, she worked at an education non-profit organization, served on the Seattle Human Rights Commission, completed Puget Sound Sage’s Community Leadership Institute fellowship, and volunteered regularly with children entering foster care. Jaden attended law school at UCLA School of Law, where she earned a specialization in Critical Race Studies and Public Interest Law and Policy. Outside of work, Jaden loves spending time with her husband, being an auntie to two nieces and one nephew, and exploring the vegan food scene in Los Angeles.
